Here’s a little something I stumbled upon through a mates facebook post this evening… a classic mix of 60’s, 70’s groove, funk n originals from David Holmes. It dates from around the time of his classic BBC Radio 1 Essential mix in 1998!!
Met this guy way back on an early trip to Newcastle’s Legendary Riverside club/venue to see him at Shindig back in 1997. I was just getting into the old house vibe from been an indie kid and had read some rave reviews of him, so hoped in the car and headed through. He was stood in the corner of the 2nd room prior to his set with hoody top over his face watching the dancefloor with a brooding look while Scooby warmed things up.
I was soon hooked into the world of electronic and beats… maybe i should take litigation for mayhem that followed against him? or maybe i should send him a farther’s day card every year?? it’s a fine line … best snort it up folks and enjoy the mix …
